  1. I’m dying for that Famoso to open!

Too bad nothing is really lasting in that old Savoy space. It’s a nice space, it needs something decent.

  2. Did the Gin Mill even open before this happened? I don’t really go clubbing on Whyte (or at all), but I was under the impression that it was still in the “coming soon” phase.

But, hey, like you said, at least Famoso is coming soon. Yeah, it’s a chain, but it’s a damn good one and it’s a local business, unlike the Le Chateau that occupied the space previously.

  3. I always kind of thought the Savoy was good. Something like it; martinis and cool music, would be fun.

Oh, it was open, Adam. I even ate there once. (It was more of a pub.) And, since I watch lots of shows like Kitchen Nightmares and Bar Rescue I can say that I am not all that surprised.

Hey, you guys, we should open a bar!

  4. Maybe more on the business side. I never saw the food prep…

I really do think watching shows like that, any maybe Restaurant Makeover, give you a sense of what people are thinking (or not) when opening and running a place. They also failed to fix a broken window for weeks, which is never a good sign.

  5. Someone on Twitter pointed out that would be a great little item to take issue with (if one was trying to get back into the bar).

Also, I’m too heartbroken to make fun of the spelling.
